Individual Counseling
Short-term individual counseling provides an opportunity to talk with an objective, caring mental health professional in a brief, solution-focused manner. The goal of short-term counseling is to reduce emotional distress and facilitate problem-solving and healthy coping as quickly as possible to help students continue attending college and pursue their goals. Short-term individual counseling can address a wide range of issues, such as adjusting to college, loneliness, anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, relationship or family problems, and academic challenges.
When a student’s concerns require more frequent, open-ended, or specialized treatment, a referral to an off-campus community provider for counseling is recommended. This referral can be coordinated by our care management team.
